ACHIEVER 90 PLUS GAS FURNACE

OVER 200 HOMEOWNERS PUT THE 90 PLUS TO THE “REAL TEST”

THE CASE FOR DIFFERENCES

With furnaces, the ultimate difference comes down to one thing: Reliability. And with Rudd’s Achiever 90 Plus line of furnaces, reliability takes on a whole new meaning.

It’s been well over 100 years since a Norwegian mechanical engineer named Edwin Ruud came to the Americas and developed the first successful automatic water heater. But being the first wasn’t enough.  From the very beginning we concentrated on building a reputation for quality’s and reliability. Then, in the 1950’s we expanded our product line and went into the heating and air conditioning field. Today the Ruud Air Conditioning Division is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of heating amid cooling products.

As proud as we are of our heritage, we’ve never rested on it. We realized long ago that our reputation wasn’t something that we were given, it was something we had to earn; and earn constantly. Today computers, electronics and sophisticated equipment have become the “tools of our trade.” But people—not machines—make and keep promises; and customers have always known they could rely on  us to deliver what we  promised. That commitment has never changed and it never will.

NO tests have ever pushed any Ruud product further than those devised for our Achiever 90 Plus furnaces. And never have the demands for performance been so exhaustive.

Subjecting furnaces to laboratory tests and all sorts of in-plant evaluations and quality control checks are vital elements of our product development process. But nothing takes the place of actual in-home testing.

Achiever 90 Plus furnaces were installed in over 200 locations all across the U. S. and Canada. North Pole, AK. Cheyenne, WY~ Leadville, CO and Chicago, IL were among those sites, because of their reputation for extremes of cold, wind, altitude and humidity conditions that have the greatest affect on furnace performance.

Through a scientific study of each furnace size, a list of potential failure modes (everything that could possibly go wrong) was made, along with the cause, results, probability and severity of each. Then we determined how to eliminate those chances of failure from reaching you, the homeowner.

The heat exchanger is the most crucial component of any gas furnace. We put the heat exchangers of all 12 Achiever 90 Plus models through testing twice as stringent as industry requirements dictate. These rigorous tests were diagnosed to ensure a longer life for this critical component.
